Saint Paisios-Monastery of Saint John the Theologian in Souroti
After of this unforgettable experience and during the return to Thessaloniki the customers must anyhow visit the Monastery of Saint John the Theologian in Souroti.
The Monastery is located only 30 Kilometers from the center of Thessaloniki, and 18 Kilometers from Thessaloniki Airport.
The Church of the monastery is devoted to Saint John the Theologian and Saint Arsenios the Cappadocian (Elder’s godfather) At the church there are the bones of Saint Arsenios.
The Elder Paisios was friar at the Mount Athos. However Elder Paisios was living at the monastery for health reasons. On July 12,1994, Elder Paisios gave his soul into God. Elder Paisios was glorified on January 13, 2015, by Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople.
Every year hundreds of thousands of Christians from all around the world go to the monastery to worship Saint Paisios.

In the monastery’s place be allowed to enter only women, men and children with decent dressing.
The excursion is appropriate only from 1 April to 31 October and finishes when the taxi returns the customers to Thessaloniki.
